You knew it was coming: Sideways the Sequel. Miles and Jack are back, and they’re tasting more wine than ever. As you may have guessed, Jack’s marriage didn’t last long and Miles’ obsession with Pinot Noir has grown furious. To help satiate their thirst—and of course your own—we have released another Sideways Six Pack of California’s best Pinot Noirs.

Our previous six pack was wildly successful and although they say the sequel is never as good as the original, we beg to differ. Sold seperately, these six wines would normally cost $270, if you could find them. We are offering them together at $225 for all six!

Want to know more about the wines? Click on "Sideways the Sequel" above to read what Jack and Miles had to say about each of the wines offered in this six pack after they stopped by Bacchus & Venus on their way to wine country.

2004 Bink, Weir Vineyard, Yorkville Highlands
Miles: The Yorkville Highlands is one of California’s smallest but most exciting growing areas. Warm days, cool nights and foggy mornings produce a relatively late-ripening pinot noir, full of depth and character. This wine is showing some beautiful bottle age, providing a mouth full of juicy black cherries, with aromas of raspberries and violets. Vanilla bean, sweet toast, and a touch of anise compliment the fruit. Smooth, supple tannins round out the lingering finish.
Jack: Kind of like if the offspring of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were a wine.

2006 Duckhorn, Migration, Anderson Valley
Miles: The Anderson Valley is one of the best places for growing Pinot. This cool area creates wines of amazing concentration and flavor. This offering is no different. This wine is textured with an integrated oak component and features a dense palate. There is a hint of pennyroyal mint in both the nose and mouth. The aroma is full of red fruit–strawberry, raspberry, and Bing cherry–complemented by a floral note and a touch of oak.
Jack: Don’t you usually trip over the curb after drinking a great Pinot?

2006 Humanitas, Gaps Crown Vineyard, Sonoma Coast
Miles: There are so many things to love about this Pinot! The famed ‘Gaps Crown’ Vineyard produces tiny, concentrated berries that yield an intense, stylistic Pinot Noir. This wine is a vibrant expression of the cool Sonoma Coast region. As if that weren’t enough to make this wine worth buying, all proceeds are donated to charities like Habitat for Humanity, America’s Second Harvest and Reading is Fundamental!
Jack: Wow, great Pinot and a great cause? Sign me up!

2006 Romililly, Russian River Valley
Miles: The Pinots from Russian River Valley tend remind me of the good Pinots from our stomping grounds in Santa Barbara. The Russian River region is cool like Santa Barbara and the wines reflect that in their brooding earthiness. This wine is rich and complex. There is big fruit and a long, smooth finish. The mouth feel is rich and balanced. This is a young winery I'm very excited to watch.
Jack: I can think of a million other things I’d rather watch than a winery.
2005 Cima Collina, Santa Maria Valley
Miles: Aromatic and spicy, with sweet oak, cherry, and dried rose aromas, well-integrated oak and cherry, rhubarb, raspberry flavors, long, textural finish. Very balanced wine with food-friendly acidity. The 2005 "Tondre Grapefield" Pinot Noir is their first release from this vineyard located in the heart of Monterey's Santa Lucia Highlands, with the elevation ranging from 175 to 400 feet. The fruit is a blend of one third each Pommard, Dijon 115 and 667 clones.
Jack: That's greek to me man, but it sure does taste good!

2006 Roessler, "Peregrine", Santa Barbara
Miles: I was wondering when we were going to get to something from Santa Barbara, the Northern California snobs. Well, at least they picked the right wine. Here’s another great wine from 2006 showing the classic Santa Barbara appellation combination of bright fruit complemented by subtle earthiness.
Jack: OK, I'm convinced. Let's order two of these six packs to ship home.
