These Zinfandel grapes are grown on a steep hillside above the famous Dry Creek Valley in central Sonoma County. This Zinfandel has the classic Dry Creek style: a jammy strawberry, blackberry and dark cherry nose in a full-bodied red wine with fine tannins and a long, crisp and juicy finish. This wine pairs well with a summer BBQ of grilled meats and vegetables or a roasted duck served with a morello cherry compote. Only 220 cases produced
Miro Tcholakov was exposed to wine and winemaking at a very early age. His grandfather was a winemaker and young Miro was at his side helping out and learning his future trade. Miro attended the Higher Institute of Agriculture in Plovdiv where he studied viticulture and enology. One fateful summer he was chosen to participate in an international exchange program and was taken on as harvest intern at Sonoma County's Dry Creek Vineyard. What was supposed to be a temporary harvest job turned into a nine year odyssey moving through the ranks from intern cellar rat to the head winemaker for Trentadue Winery where he still maintains his day job. In 2001 Miro custom crushed his first wine. Within a few weeks of the release of that inaugural bottling, his wine received a 90 point rating and a well-received write-up from Robert Parker in the Wine Advocate
