Lucia 2007 Susan's Hill Syrah
The Susan’s Hill Syrah resides on one of the highest elevation points of Pisoni Vineyards where it is exposed to the elements and receives a great deal of wind. The coarse, rocky soils ensure that the vines are extremely stressed. This combination of environmental factors produces some of the most intense Syrah found in California.

Canihan Family Cellars, Pinot Noir, 2006
Deliciously layered with strawberry, raspberry, wild berry, and floral tones which fold into cedar and cigar box, ending with an earthy profile. The wine’s texture is elegant and rich, with a deep, lingering finish. The estate vineyard is certified organic by CCOF.

Aiena, Pinot Noir, 2007
This wine is sourced from two different vineyards around Monterey the Mission Ranch is further from Monterey Bay, the climate is a little warmer, causing the grapes to ripen around the middle of September. This adds a darker and plush quality to the wine. Closer to the coast at the Silacci Vineyard, the grapes are still on the vine in the middle of September due to the cooling coastal influence. They are picked a few weeks later and due to the cooler climate they provide the acid backbone and bit more of the perfume to the nose. The resulting wine has the best of both worlds.

Breggo, Ferrington Vineyard Pinot, 2007

The intensity of the fruit on the nose makes this compelling wine immediately stand out. Aromas of bright strawberry, pie cherry, and a touch of black raspberry are given greater depth by notes of mint and orange peel. Hints of rosehip tea, honey, and clove become apparent as the wine breathes. In the mouth, lively tannins coat the palate while flavors of cherry pie, pepper, and caraway linger on the finish.

Dense blueberry/blackberry fruit, generous acidity, robust tannins, and a smoky, spicy finish. Sometimes the nose is teased with a bit of mineral, sometimes a barky sensation. Like our forebearers, we blend extensively with Carignane, but enjoy its rough and tumble individuality as well.

Truckee River Winery Garys' Vyd Pinot '05

Limited production unfined and unfiltered carefully crafted in Truckee. The grapes are transported in a refrigerated truck, then crushed and cold soaked for up to 4 days. Fermentation starts slow because of the cool nights in Truckee and then ends strong about 4 weeks later. Our barrel aging cellars are a cool 50-55 F. We age in 60% new French oak for a minimum of 18 months. All this produces a very delicate Pinot with the complexity, depth, and soft tannins that the Pisoni clone is known for.

This wine is textured with an integrated oak component and features a dense palate. There is a hint of pennyroyal mint (native to our area) in both the nose and mouth. The aroma is full of red fruit–strawberry, raspberry, and Bing cherry–complemented by a floral note and a touch of oak. In the mouth, sweet spices abound–cinnamon, in particular–along with dense plum and notes of cola and vanilla, all followed by an edge of earthiness, mushrooms, and forest floor in the finish.

You knew it was coming: Sideways the Sequel. Miles and Jack are back, and they’re tasting more wine than ever. As you may have guessed, Jack’s marriage didn’t last long and Miles’ obsession with Pinot Noir has grown furious. To help satiate their thirst—and of course your own—we have released another Sideways Six Pack of California’s best Pinot Noirs.

Our previous six pack was wildly successful and although they say the sequel is never as good as the original, we beg to differ. Sold seperately, these six wines would normally cost $270, if you could find them. We are offering them together at $225 for all six!
